Street sweeping keeps roads safe by removing debris that clogs storm drains and reduces the amount of pollutants that collect on Borough streets. To avoid clogging the sweeper, please place Borough tree branches in the planting strip/sidewalk area.
Street sweeping occurs from April through December. The following is a schedule of street cleaning days:
- 2nd Monday:Â Penn Avenue
- 1st & 3rd Tuesday: Walnut Street, Chestnut Street, Wayne Avenue, Sycamore Road, and Linden Lane
- 2nd & 4th Tuesday: N Third and N Fourth Avenues, Summit Street, Kent Way, Oak Terrace, and Ann Street
- 1st & 3rd Wednesday: Olive Street, N and S Seventh Avenue, and Sunset Road
- 2nd Wednesday: N and S Sixth Avenue, Pine Street, Kline Street, and Yarnell Street
- 4th Wednesday: Tulpehocken Avenue, 300 block Cherry Street, S Second and S Fifth Avenues, and Holland Square
- 1st & 3rd Thursday: Elm Street, Spruce Street, and Reading Avenue

- 1st & 3rd Friday: S Eighth and S Third Avenues, Lakeview Drive, Silk Drive, and Parkview Road

Please take note of the signs posted on the street where you park to help the Public Works Department clean the street efficiently and avoid a parking ticket.
If a scheduled street cleaning day falls on a holiday, unless otherwise specified, that street would not be cleaned until the following regular cleaning day.
Make sure to remove your vehicle at the appropriate time when streets are posted to avoid a parking ticket.
