The gateway into West Reading is getting a makeover.
The Norfolk Southern railroad overhead bridge at Penn Avenue and Second Avenue is scheduled to be power-washed and repainted beginning Monday, April 27, 2026, at 8:00 AM.
Please use caution driving through the work zone. Motorists can expect lane closures and delays from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday to Friday, in both the east and west directions. The duration of this project is two weeks, weather permitting.
Project costs are grant-funded through the Commonwealth Financing Authority Local Share Account.
