Update on Water Issue

From the Western Berks Water Authority...

The water is safe for use and consumption. The odor or taste issue was caused by a water main break that occurred in Bern Township. The tank was drained down very low and the break stirred up any sediment that accumulated.  The fire hydrants were flushed in the hopes that this would help to eliminate the sediment and there is still some sediment that's remaining. You are welcome to use bottled water for the time being, but the water is safe to drink and can be used for daily use. Please be patient while the sediment works it way through the system.

If you have any questions or concerns please don't hesitate to contact Borough Hall at 610-374-8273.
