West Reading Community Revitalization Foundation Board Vacancy
The West Reading Community Revitalization Foundation, a nonprofit community-based organization committed to advancing the vitality of our business community and the livability of our neighborhoods, is searching for a business person of the Borough who is interested in helping us revitalize our community by joining our Board of Directors. Due to the composition of the Board, the vacancy must be filled by a person who has principal ownership interest in a separate commercial enterprise open to the public and located within the boundaries of the Borough of West Reading that satisfies the legal definition of a business as to:
a) retail or wholesale sale of goods and/or services,
b) food service and/or drinking establishments,
c) professional services

The Recreation Commission has two vacancies if anyone would like to be on the committee. Please submit a letter of interest to the Recreation Department. The committee meets once a month to discuss topics related to Recreational events in our community. This is a volunteer position and some heavy lifting is required. You must live in the Borough of West Reading to be on the committee.

Environmental Advisory Council
The EAC board currently has a vacancy. EAC meets on the 4th Monday at 7:00 p.m. of every month to discuss environmental issues. Interested residents should forward a letter of interest to:

IMPORTANT TRASH INFORMATION
Remember that BULK collection is the FIRST FRIDAY of the month and only one bulk item is allowed. Please do not place these items out on other trash days. If you have any questions pertaining to the bulk pickup please contact Borough Hall.
Also remember to place ONLY recycling in your recycling containers - NO TRASH! This way the hauler doesn't need to search through your bin.

Special Notice concerning trash/recycling:
The Codes Department will be placing an emphasis on the enforcement of trash/refuse bags that are not in durable, water-tight containers with lids. Notice of Violation letters will be sent to any property found to be in violation. If the violation is not corrected a citation will be filed with the District Justice Magistrate. Due to the public health and safety of the residents, we as for your cooperation with the following.
1.) All refuse MUST be stored in durable, water-tight containers equipped with handles and tight-fitting covers which cannot be larger than thirty-five (35) gallons. It is suggested that you mark your containers with your address.
2.) Four (4) trash cans per residence per pickup are allowed. Please DO NOT place bulky items out for regular pickup. These items may only be placed out for pickup on the first Friday of every month.
3.) Please DO NOT place trash/recycling out prior to Noon the day before pickup and promptly remove your receptacle by midnight on the day of pickup.
4,) Trash pickup remains every Tuesday and Friday.
Recycling pickup remains every Wednesday.
5.) Yard waste MUST be placed in biodegradable bags for pickup or arrangements need to be made with the Borough Garage for disposal. Please call 610-374-8605 to schedule and appointment between the hours of
7:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The garage is located at 1st Avenue and Chestnut Streets.
6.) Electronic items such as microwaves, dehumidifiers and air conditioners will not be picked up by the trash hauler. These items must be recycled due to hazardous materials. Water Quality Report Information
Every year at this time we provide all of our water users with a water quality report for the previous year. The report contains important information about the source and quality of our drinking water. This year, instead of mailing a paper copy to each residence in the Borough, we are providing the information on our website which you may access by clicking here. However if you still wish to have a copy mailed to you, please call the water department at 610-374-8273, option 1 and we will be happy to send one out.
