BOROUGH ORDINANCE CHANGES:
Please note that Council has recently enacted an updated Refuse Ordinance which now requires that trash be stored and placed out for collection in durable, watertight containers equipped with handles and tight-fitting covers which cannot be larger than thirty-five (35) gallons. Refuse and recycling cannot be placed out for collection prior to noon the day before pickup. All containers must be removed by 11:59 p.m. the same day as collection and stored on your individual property. Containers are not to remain in the alleys or on the streets where you place them for collection. At no time are trash cans and recycling bins to be stored in the front of your property or on the front porch or yard area.
If you have any questions or wish the view the Ordinance please call or stop in Borough Hall in the Administration or Code Enforcement Department and we will assist you.
***There is a limited amount of coupons for Lowes for $5.00 off towards the purchase of a trash can with lid. This is on a first come, first serve basis. Limit of "1" per household. Contact Tracey in the Codes Department for more details.

Take a look at a brand new website developed by West Reading's own "Neo-Pangea". The site was launched in May to promote West Reading as a great place to live, work and play.
UPCOMING EVENTS!!!!
Please check back at a later date for a list of events!
Borough Hall will be closed the following days:
President's Day - Monday, February 20th Good Friday - Friday, April 6th
Games Requested
The recreation department, once again, is asking all residents to donate gently used games and board games to be used for the summer playground program. Any games, with all of their parts and pieces, are welcome! Games may be dropped off at the borough hall, M-F, 8:00AM to 5PM. In addition to games, craft supplies including paper, buttons, yarn etc. will be accepted.
Important information regarding trash pickup:
Be sure to place your trash/recycling out the night before. Eagle Disposal comes to our area rather early in the morning. If you put your trash/recycling out on the day of pickup and it's still sitting there by the end of the day, it's likely that you have missed the pickup.
Please contact our office if you have any questions.
Important Recycling Notice for Residents
If you have medical waste and are curious on how to dispose of it, it must be placed in the trash and not in with the recycling. Used needles may be placed into laundry detergent bottles that are marked "hazardous" and placed with the trash. If medical waste is placed in recycling, it will contaminate the entire load that goes to the plant for processing and therefore cannot be used.
