The West Reading Police Department consists of 13 full-time Officers; 2 part-time Officers; 2 support staff, a full-time Parking Enforcement Officer and our police dog - Fox. We are located in the West Reading Borough Hall at 500 Chestnut Street, West Reading, Pennsylvania.
The department is run by Chief Stephen Powell. Some functions of the department include: Criminal Investigations, Parking Enforcement, K-9 Unit, Crime Prevention, Motorcyle and Bicycle Patrols, D.A.R.E. Program, Youth Aid Program, Agressive Driving Enforcement Program and the Childsafe Program designed with gun safety in mind.
Hours of Operation
The Police Department's front desk is open from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. If the Police Department is closed, No Parking Signs may be purchased and parking ticket payments may be made at the Administration office Monday through Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
Curfew- Children under 18 years of age are not permitted on Borough streets after 9:30 pm., and before 6:00 a.m., unless accompanied by a responsible adult.
Jay Walking: For your safety and the convenience of the persons driving, please use the crosswalks.
Noise: Please be courteous to your neighbors and keep the volume to a reasonable level.
