DESCRIPTION:Happy Halloween! Gather ghosts and goblins\, its that time of year for costumes\, jack-o-lanterns and candy corn! The annual family-friendly community Trick-or-Treat event will be held on Friday\, October 31\, 2025 from 5pm – 8pm. Suggestions for celebrating safely are: \n\nWalk in groups or with a trusted adult.\nFasten reflective tape to costumes and bags.\nWear a blinking light to help drivers see you.\nHold a flashlight while trick-or-treating to help you see and others see you.\nCross only at intersections and designated crosswalks.\nWatch out for open flames in pumpkins.\nOnly visit well-lit houses\, don’t stop at dark houses.\nDon’t approach unfamiliar pets and animals.\nDon’t cut through yards and stay out of backyards.\nBe polite and say “thank you”.\nExamine all treats for choking hazards and tampering before eating them.\nReport any suspicious or criminal activity to an adult or the police.\n\nMayor Samantha Kaag and the West Reading Police Department wishes all who take part a fun and safe Halloween!
