We are pleased to announce that the Snow Emergency will be lifted at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, January 26th.

As we continue to work to clear our streets of snow and ice, the Public Works Department will post “No Parking” signs on additional streets throughout the week. This is necessary to facilitate further snow removal efforts. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding that will allow our crews to complete their work efficiently.

Please remember to clear your sidewalks of snow. Additional time has been allotted in accordance with the Governor’s declaration of a state of emergency. Please view the details in the specified time limit link below.

Shovel Smart

The following are reminders and tips to help make winter safer and more hassle-free for everyone:

  • Do not shovel, plow, or blow snow into the street. Blowing into the streets makes it difficult to clear them.
  • Please clear snow and ice around fire hydrants.
  • Please clear snow and ice from public sidewalk areas on your property within the specified time limit.
  • If your schedule allows, wait until the street is plowed before shoveling to the end of the driveway. Shovel the snow to the “downstream” side of your driveway. This prevents snow from being plowed back into your driveway.

Play It Safe

Talk to your children about snowplow safety. Children should stay away from snow piled at the curb and be warned not to build forts in it. Children should also be reminded to stay at least 20 feet back in the driveway when the plow comes down the street. Use extreme caution when passing plowing or de-icing equipment.
