The Borough's Park and Recreation Department provides fun and safe activities for the residents of the Borough. We have a Recreation Commission which meets regularly to discuss and plan upcoming events and projects. We are always looking for volunteers, so if you have the time, come out and join us!

Throughout the year, the recreation department hosts a variety of activities including the Easter Egg Hunt, Christmas Tree Lighting, Haunted Hayride, Flea Markets, and Community Moonlight Swims. Every summer, Borough children are invited to take part in the Borough's playground program, which provides activities for children ages 4-12. In addition to the playground program, the Borough also sponsors the West Reading Swim Team, which is open to all Borough residents.

For more information on events or if you'd just like to lend a helping hand, please contact the Recreation Director, Helen Moyer at Borough Hall at 610-374-8273, ext 243 or by email

If you are interested in volunteering for any Borough event, please do not hesitate to contact Borough Hall during regular business hours, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.
