The West Reading Pool is one of the largest municipal pools in Berks County. Memberships are available to Borough Residents and their guests, along with residents of Wyomissing School District, employees of Borough businesses, and Sacred Heart Students. A membership at the West Reading Pool allows members to take advantage of the 14' diving well, the tot pool with cascading umbrella, volleyball, and the concession stand.

The West Reading Pool Schedule:

June 3 - August 28 - Open Every Day
August 29 - September 1 - Pool Closed
September 2 - 4 - Open Labor Day Weekend Only

Moonlight Swim

Mark your calendars to join us at the pool for our moonlight swims!

All moonlight swims are 8:00 PM - 10:00 PM

Adult Only Moonlight Swim: Come out for an adult movie and moonlight swim ~ this is not your normal moonlight swim!

~ Movie: To be determined ~ Please stay tuned!

Date: Friday, August 4th 8:00 PM - 11:00 PM (18 years or older)

$4.00 for members
$7.00 for non-members

~ Flotation devices are allowed, but please leave the alcohol at home!
~ Only the big pool will be open for the evening.

Doggie Swim Day:

Come swim with your furry friend!

The pool will close at 4:00 PM on September 4th for "Doggie Swim Day".
Doggie Swim is open from 5:00 PM - 6:30 PM
Cost: $10.00 ($5.00 entrance fee & $5.00 donated to ARL)

2017 Pool Membership Fees:

Only persons who are 18 years and older will be permitted to complete and sign a season registration form. Any child 9 years of age or younger must be accompanied at all times by a responsible person who meets the following criteria: is a season member of the pool, pays the daily swimmer rate, or pays the daily spectator rate.

Please Note: Non-residents who do not meet the requirements for non-sponsored membership, must be accompanied by a member of the pool, or a resident of West Reading Borough, in order to swim for the day.

Early Bird Discount: A 5% discount will be offered to those who reside in the Borough and who purchase their membership by 5:00 PM on Friday, May 12, 2017.

Please Note:

Non-residents who do not meet the requirements for a non-sponsored membership must be accompanied by a member of the pool, or a resident of the Borough of West Reading in order to swim for the day.

Non-sponsored memberships are those who are employees of Borough businesses or are residents of the Wyomissing Area School District or Sacred Heart Students.

Borough Business Employees are eligible for resident rate. Family members to the employee will be eligible for non-resident rate with the sponsor of the Borough Business Employee. Must show employee ID and paystub to receive this rate.

Swimming Lessons

Swim lessons are taught by a qualified water safety instructor. The cost is $60.00 for residents and $85.00 for non-residents per two-week session. 

Swim Lesson Dates:
June 19 - June 30
July 10 - July 21
July 24 - August 4

Morning Lessons: 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM
Evening Lessons: 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM

Private lessons may also be arranged by visiting the front desk at the pool. All swim lesson forms will be available beginning Memorial Day weekend.  Classes are limited to 3-5 students depending on skill level.

West Reading Waves - Swim Team

Come join the West Reading Waves for "wavetacular" fun this summer!

Competitive swimming is available to Borough residents of all ages who are pool members.
Practice Begins: June 12th at 8:30 AM
Cost: $75.00 (includes West Reading T-Shirt and Team Swim Suit)

Obtain registration forms at Borough Hall or at the Pool beginning Memorial Day Weekend, May 27th.

Practices are held Monday thru Friday. Swim meets are held on Monday evenings.

Membership Information

Membership forms are available at Borough Hall. Registration forms may be submitted by an adult (age 18 +) to Borough Hall until June 6th and to the pool thereafter. Please note, photos will not be taken at Borough Hall and patrons using a credit card must remit payment at Borough Hall. 

All Borough residents, employees of Borough business and Sacred Heart students are eligible for the resident rate. Proof of employment at the West Reading Borough business, proof of enrollment at Sacred Heart School or proof of residency is required. Please note, seniors (age 61 +) who reside in the Borough of West Reading must pay a $35 membership fee. 
Pool Rules:

A responsible person must accompany children under the age of 12 at all times.
Children using swimming aids must be within one arm's reach of a responsible adult.
No food or drink near the water.
No smoking/e-cigarettes within the pool property.
No glass containers.
No alcohol of any kind.
Do not enter the pool with any open wounds or infectious sores.
Promptly dispose of all trash and recyclable items.
Please lock bicycles on bike rack located outside the pool gate.
Swimsuits are required for all patrons.
No diapers are permitted in the pool (swim diapers are available at the desk for $3).

No clothing items are allowed in the pool, such as t-shirts, shorts, tank tops, underwear, bra, etc. 1st Offense: Warning; 2nd Offense: Dismissal from the pool for the remainder of the season, this includes members and non-members alike.
